A simple, transparent process. From application to daycare enrollment, here's what to expect every step of the way.
Fill out our online form with your information, your child's details, and the incarcerated father's inmate ID. Takes about 5 minutes. All information is kept strictly confidential.
We confirm the father is currently incarcerated using the inmate ID provided and verify that the child is within our age range. We do not contact the facility or law enforcement about your application.
Our team reviews each application individually. We consider the child's needs, the family's situation, and available funding. You'll hear back within 3-5 business days.
If approved, we work with you to find a daycare center near your home or work. If you already have a center in mind, we'll work directly with them.
We pay the daycare center directly. No money passes through your hands, no vouchers, no reimbursement forms. The center gets paid, your child gets care.
No. We never share your application data with law enforcement, corrections facilities, or any government agency. Your information is only used to verify eligibility and coordinate daycare payments.
Applications are typically reviewed within 3-5 business days. If approved, daycare enrollment can begin within 1-2 weeks, depending on center availability.
We accept applications regardless of whether the father is in federal prison, state prison, or county jail. The requirement is current incarceration, not the type of facility.
Yes. Submit one application per child. Each application is reviewed individually based on available funding.
During the pilot program, we cover daycare for up to 6 months per child. Extensions may be available based on continued need and funding.
Currently, we're only serving families in San Diego County as part of our pilot program. We plan to expand to other cities pending successful results and additional funding.
The application takes about 5 minutes. We'll review it and get back to you within a few business days.
